Meet the trainer
I'm Layla. Dogs have genuinely been my biggest passion for as long as I can remember, and from a very young age I knew working with them was what I wanted to do.
I started training dogs at 12 years old with my family's poodle mix and quickly became obsessed with learning everything I could about dog behaviour, engagement, obedience and much more. Since then I've had experience working with a wide variety of breeds and temperaments, and dogs with all different kinds of challenges, and I've worked in a pet resort, dog daycare and dog groomer. I'm constantly continuing to learn and improve my knowledge.
Since 2022 I've travelled across multiple states in Australia attending seminars, training events, competitions and trials, and training alongside many experienced trainers to further develop my skills, train my personal dogs and continue building my understanding of dogs. While I've explored many different areas of training over the years, my biggest goal is helping owners train their pets to become easier to live with in day-to-day life, while also helping owners become more confident and capable handlers.
Whether your goals are improving obedience, creating a more reliable dog, or simply having fun and building a better bond with your dog as a hobby, I'm passionate about helping people and their dogs enjoy life together more.
Alongside pet dog training, I also actively trial and train in PSA (Protection Sports Association) with my personal dogs, and have participated in a range of dog sports including obedience, agility, flyball, dock diving, lure coursing and bite sports over the years. At 17 I became the first junior handler in Australia to step onto a PSA trial field and achieved my PSA PDC, making me the youngest person in Australia to achieve a PDC, and later at 19 I achieved our PSA1.
